"Pepe Pruning the Coconut Palm"
oil on canvas, 48" x 30" spring of 2002

Ok, so right now this is absolutely my own personal favorite painting. I love almost everything about it. I loved painting it, the size, the colors and the subject. Here, our friend Pepe had decided to pick some coconuts and as long as he was up there he very nicely pruned the entire tree with his bare feet. It was the most amazing thing to watch. Erica thought he was part of the actual tree when I first emailed her this photo. I see what she means. It was almost like that. This on line photo doesn't do the colors and textures in this painting justice. Just like most things, it's better in person. You can still get the gist though. D.ita
