"Mas Peppers"

oil on Masonite 23.5" x 19.5" 1990's

This painting proves my point that my "inner artist" already had a notion of where my artistic inspirations were going to start coming from.  I painted this while in the intense period of having and raising two small children.  I went to the Pike Street market in Seattle at the time when a huge variety of peppers were available.  I think by the time I actually finished this, most of the peppers were shriveled up and shrunken.  The eggplant might even have been developing mold at that point.  I love the painting simply because it screams Mexico to me.  It makes me feel like a color queen.
