"Fishermen and Pie lady, Yelapa"
oil on canvas 16" x 12" unframed
I am still waiting for the professional photos of this painting to come back. This photo makes it really hard to see all the nuances in the distance of the jungle and casas. This is a typical day in Yelapa. The local fishermen were turning one of the fishing boats to paint it as a local "pie lady" strolled by. The ladies make the pies by hand at home and walk the beach in the early part of the day to sell their delicious baked goods. I've seen Key lime and Apple pie so far. They bring several at a time and put one in a keeper which they balance on their heads and one more they set on top of the keeper. Quite a fabulous sight to see. Do have pie if you happen to be lucky enough to meet a "pie lady" some day. D.ita
