This is a really fun piece that is the beginning of a new technique in style for me.   I utilize the photo to draw the beginning of the work but I never look at the canvas while I'm drawing.  Once I have the basic drawing laid down, I set the photo away and finish the painting.  I taught this to both of my kids classes in elementary school last year and was amazed at what the eye to hand coordination will bring out if you let go enough.  Super fun.  Look for more work in this style as I really enjoyed it and love the results.  The internet photo really doesn't do it justice.  Hard to capture the color and brush strokes.  I also used some various etching techniques which are difficult to see online.
