"Chair and Banana"

"Banana and Chair" is a small piece that I did on very thick archival paper. I gessoed it, taped a border and painted it in my studio.  I then mounted the paper on raw canvas that I hand dyed and framed it with a small frame that I also hand painted to match the work.  This painting is small but created a big ruckus at my opening when two people tried to buy it at the same time and had "words" with each other and the gallery representative.  In a misunderstanding, the gallery rep wouldn't sell it to the one person and the other walked out thinking that it had already been sold.  The rep told me to take the red sold dot off of the painting as no one had paid for it yet and, voila, a couple saw me do it and ran over and bought it on the spot! Gotta love it.  D.ita
