"Amarillo Sunflowers"
oil 18.5" x 22" 1990's
A still life I executed in my home studio. I used the sunflowers from my garden. My thought on arranging this still life was to keep it simple. I had been painting a lot of still life works at the time which were really full of subjects and I was longing to do something completely opposite. I can see why so many painters choose sunflowers. Their full faces and drooping leaves are perfect for working with oil paint. D.ita
